How can I learn the version of a running Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services?

In order to learn or check the version of a Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services application, you can browse the http://servername/reportserver on the report server. 

If the Reporting Services application is running on your localhost then browse the http://localhost/reportserver address within an internet browser. When you browse to the ReportServer address on your browser you will see a page similar as below.

You may notice the version information written on the footer of the page.

Second method of determining the version information of a Reporting Services application is openning the Add/Remove Programs application from Control Panel of the Reporting Services installed server. And scrolling down in the "Currently installed programs" window screen until you reach the Reporting Services program. Then click the support information link for Reporting Services installation. "Support Info" screen will appear on the screen giving detailed information about the edition and version of the installed Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services application.

You will see a similar screen as above when you follow the instructions for the second method. Version information is given under the publisher. Also http://www.microsoft.com/sql is written as an external publisher support link.

You can use this methods to determine the Reporting Services versions for either Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (codename Yukon).
