Project Management Quotes, Quotes on Management, Leadership, etc.

Today's quote on project management is :

Managers are sometimes bridges between employees or groups

What do you think? Do you agree that managers are the communication bridges between employees or groups having difficulty in communicating each other.

Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things

    Hello,
    me again.

Today I'm posting another quote this time on management and leadership from Peter Drucker :

Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things.

I believe you probably feel this. You are doing something because it has to do so. But it is not the thing that should be done at best. To seek for the best requires courage and leadership.
Actually I want to add an other quote on this topic right now.

Seek not to follow in the footsteps of men of old. Seek what they sought.

They come in and impose the solution

This quote is from Dark Tide I: Onslaught one of the Star Wars novels.
But I found this valid and common especially in software development projects. Did it sound similar to you also?

They come in and impose the solution.
    It might be quick.
    It might work very well.
But is it the best solution?

What is not written on paper has not been said.

Here is a truth that I have lived a lot in projects and meetings during the project lifecycle.
    Can you regret this?

What is not written on paper has not been said.

Everyone is needed, but no one is necessary.

Todays management quote is about team work. In a team working together, success is very closely related with the collaboration of the team members.

Our project management proverb for today is :

Everyone is needed, but no one is necessary.

Any project can be estimated accurately, once it is completed.

It is difficult to make a project plan even for the following week not even for far future.

The below project management quote is emphasizing how challenging making an estimation for a project.

Any project can be estimated accurately, once it is completed.

Even a correct decision is wrong when it was taken too late.

If you have calculations for estimating your risks and if you have not yet taken any decisions for minimizing your risks, it may be too late when the date come that the risk occurs.

Even a correct decision is wrong when it was taken too late

Obstacles today are achievements of tomorrows

Create a "To-Don't" list that contains tasks, rituals, and meetings that you should never waste your time on again.

Here is one important quote from Tom Peters on effective time management, a major problem for both individuals and for teams.

Create a "To-Don't" list that contains tasks, rituals, and meetings that you should never waste your time on again.
    Then stick to it.

There is no "I" in "TEAMWORK"

Here is a quote team work which is a must for developing team-work skills in a work group.

There is no "I" in "TEAMWORK"

That is the very very basics of a teamwork. There can be stars in the team, but they should work for the team not for themselves.

If it is not documented, it doesn't exist...

OK, I've found the original quote which I totally agree and whose words are they.
Here is the project management quote for pm's.

If it is not documented, it doesn't exist... As long information is retained in someone's head, it is vulnerable to loss.

You may delay, but time will not.

Todays' saying is about time management which is an important issue in project management.

Here is the quote on time management from Benjamin Franklin.

You may delay, but time will not.

No matter what the problem is, it's always a people problem.

Here is an other quote on project management which I appretiate much.

No matter what the problem is, it's always a people problem.

It is very common and understandable by a software developer or by an IT (Information Technology) professional, since generally most of the problems rising are not caused by technical problems, but by people who supposed to be a part of the solution.

Re: No matter what the problem is, it's always a people problem.

I will share this one by Colin Powell: "Leadership is the art of accomplishing more than the science of management says is possible."
I like the above, and how he so rightly describe leadership as an art, and management as a science.

Re: No matter what the problem is, it's always a people problem.

    I agree with you Hareton.
There are tools for project management, etc on the market.
But I've not yet seen any leadership tool
