The startup disk could not be written to.

    Hello, virtual pc users,

I know how it is easy to use virtual images especially for learning new technologies and new products like the new version of Visual Studio 2010, or the CTP versions of new applications released for developers and system administrators.

I also use virtual disks and carry them from one computer to another frequently.

In one of them while the virtual system was starting and working successfully, later on it began to give the following error message and the virtual machine only displayed a black empty screen.

Do you have any idea what has caused this error?

You may not have sufficient privilege to write to the disk. The virtual hard disk has been mounted read-only. Most operating systems cannot boot with a read-only startup disk.
